چکیده
Backgrounds: We aimed to investigate the relationship between preoperative immunomodulator administration and occurrence of Surgical Site Infection (SSI) in pediatric Ulcerative Colitis (UC) patients. Methods: We evaluated SSI occurrence after total proctocolectomy with ileal J-pouch anal anastomosis and creation of diversion ileostomy at the first stage in pediatric UC 24 patients. SSI was defined as an infection occurring within 30 days after operation. The relationships between SSI occurrence and preoperative medical therapy were reviewed.
